About Iowa Pride Ensembles

Based in Des Moines, Iowa, the mission of Iowa Pride Ensembles is to promote artistic expression, education, community, and acceptance through performance. We accept members of all playing abilities, though we do recommend some previous experience with instrumental music. Members and supporters of the LGBTQIA2+ community that are 18+ are all welcome to join any ensemble of IPE. More information to come on our Concert and Jazz band programming!

Jazz Band Season: “Swing Fling” Dance

All rehearsals are 3:00-5:00 pm at Indian Hills Jr. High

  • January 11th: First Rehearsal

  • January 25th: Rehearsal

  • February 8th: Rehearsal

  • February 22nd: Rehearsal

  • March 8th: Rehearsal

  • March 22nd: Dress Rehearsal

  • March 28th: “Swing Fling” Dance @ BASH

Marching Band Season:

  • Rehearsals begin April 19th and continue bi-weekly until June.

  • June 14th: Capital City Pride’s PrideFest - Performance

  • Pride Month Performance Inquiries will open in March.

Concert Band Season:

  • Rehearsals begin Fall 2026.
